Lake Moraine is in my opinion one of the most beautiful and scenic lake in the Canadian Rockies. The lake is crowned by ten notable peaks the highest is the Deltaform Monuntain (3424 m.). Lake Moraine has the most vivid turquoise imaginable, like in Peyto Lake the peacock blue is caused by fine particles of glacial silt, or till, known as rock flour. You can admire the lake by walking along the east shore, from above by clambering over the great glacial moraine dam near the lodge, or from one of the canoes for rent on the right just beyond the Lodge and car park

Paddling is one of my great loves. This eye-level capture of the canoes and Lake Moraine against the Rocky Mountains makes me feel like I'm standing right there, paddle in hand and a big grin on my face : )
